GuestBridge Donates Time, Staff to Aid
New Orleans Hospitality Businesses Impacted by Hurricane Katrina
NEW ORLEANS, November 25, 2005 – At the time of Hurricane Katrina, GuestBridge, Inc. pledged to send volunteers to New Orleans to help hospitality businesses recover from the disaster. The first team of engineers arrived today, and has begun helping restaurants re-establish their technical infrastructure.
Due to the hurricane and subsequent flooding, many restaurants lost not only their kitchen equipment, but also their computer systems and valuable customer data. As GuestBridge is a supplier of front-of-house customer relationship tools, the company is perfectly positioned to lend its expertise to restaurants in need. This includes setting up networks, firewalls, computers, installing software, etc.
Many New Orleans restaurants have been quick to reopen, serving the large number of relief workers and construction crews in the city. While other restaurants await remodeling or demolition teams, GuestBridge is able to assist those that can reopen with their technical infrastructure, allowing the restaurateurs to concentrate on running their business and serving their guests.
The GuestBridge staff members who have chosen to volunteer for this assignment are taking time out of the office during the busy pre-holiday season. GuestBridge is covering all travel expenses, and the restaurants are covering meals when they can. The company’s philosophy is that GuestBridge is only as strong as the hospitality industry in general, and will do as much as possible to help the businesses and economy of New Orleans during this difficult time.
